GASSA commits PrintWorks proceeds to APIA

The Graphic Arts Services Association of Australia (GASSA) claims to be the first industry association to join with the Paper Industry Association (APIA) and make a financial commitment to its ‘paper – part of everyday’ promotional campaign. GASAA's 2010 commitment includes a portion of the revenues from the upcoming PrintWorks Expo.

Bernard Cassell, president of APIA says, “It is tremendous to see the executive of GASAA, on behalf of its members, commit funds to the paper - part of everyday campaign initiated with funds provided by APIA. The campaign, aimed initially at media buyers and corporate heads, will promote the effectiveness of print as a key part of the communications matrix.”

Cassell continues, “The campaign dispels the growing mistruths that print is outdated and unsustainable, and that online is environmentally neutral. We’ve had many leading firms already sign up to the industry wide campaign, and with GASAA’s strong financial support in allocating proceeds from its September PrintWorks Expo, momentum is really building for a lasting approach.”

Also commenting, David Leach, national president of GASAA says, “When we looked at how we could financially assist, our Executive felt directing funds from the industry event PrintWorks 2010 was an important way to give back to the industry in a very tangible way.

GASAA, with its diverse membership representation will assist on the campaign steering committee to provide input from the creative and print service provider perspective.”

The PrintWorks 2010 Expo will be held in Sydney from September 20-22.
