Griffin Press launches global book printing network

Australasian book manufacturer Griffin Press has launched a system allowing customers to access a global print network, which enables the simultaneous manufacture, publication and delivery of books with a consistent quality and price offering.

According to Griffin Press, the new solution, Global Print Solutions, which was released at the London Book Fair gives customers the freedom to print from anywhere in the world.

The system makes simultaneous global publication simple, allowing customers to provide a single digital file to a single supplier. This file is then printed locally anywhere and anytime in the world, encouraging significant savings in time and cost through reduced reliance on shipping.

The solution is was developed from a collaboration with Griffin Press in Australia, CPI Group in the UK, Edward Brothers in USA and Markono in Singapore. All four organisations manufacture paperbacks, hardbacks, saddlestitched and coil-bound products to the same standards, ensuring consistently high quality and a single unit price.

Commenting on the launch, Ben Jolly, general manager of Griffin Press says, “Publishing is a truly global business and last year we identified a growing need for customers to expand into overseas markets and meet international orders, quickly and efficiently.

“At the same time, we saw the industry entering a challenging period with significant pressure on customers to minimise costs by reducing time-to-market and shipping costs.”

He continues, “When customers use gps, Griffin Press can seamlessly order their content for manufacture – in Australia, Europe, North America or Asia – at a consistent unit price.  Ordering in Australia and manufacturing near the end user means publishers can make significant savings in time and cost.”
