Three weeks after its launch the Australian Printer LinkedIn Group has now topped 1,000 printers, making it easily the biggest Australian online print discussion group.
Peter Arman, general manager of Gold Coast digital print business Print Central, became the 1000th person to join the new Australian Printer LinkedIn Group.
Arman says, “I’ve already found the Australian Printer LinkedIn group extremely valuable. Being able to share ideas and thoughts with printers around the country has been great. I joined to keep abreast of ideas and trends and developments, and on the group people share from the heart, so you get the real story.”
Print Central is a technology-based digital printing business established nine years ago. It has UV, latex and solvent wide-format printers, as well as a new Ricoh Pro C901 cut sheet printer. Arman says, “We market ourselves as able to print onto almost any surface or substrate, in high quality photographic colour. Print Central is breaking new ground when it comes to indoor and outdoor signage and retail/commercial graphic applications.”
Early discussions on the Australian printer LinkedIn Group have focused on training, on attracting young people to the industry, on whether it is viable for printers to actually print any more rather than using trade shops, and on government grants.
Wayne Robinson, editor of Australian Printer says, “The Australian Printer LinkedIn Group will benefit Australian print business owners and managers by enabling them to share experiences, ask questions, progress discussions, understand trends and feel part of the broader industry..
“It is no surprise that the Australian Printer LinkedIn Group quickly became the biggest Group in the country, just a reflection of the market leading position of Australian Printer which is part of the fabric of the industry, and has been since it was first published in 1950.”
To join the Australian Printer LinkedIn Group simply go to your LinkedIn page, go to the left hand column, click Groups, and then key Australian Printer in the search box. Robinson says, “We encourage all printers to join the Australian Printer LinkedIn Group. Any member can start a discussion on any topic they want, so if something is dear to your heart, or you want to get it off your chest post the discussion.”
