Specialist tradeshow Fespa Digital is expecting record numbers of wide format printers to head to Munich this month – the exhibition has had no problems attracting suppliers with floorspace sold out.
Close to 450 exhibitors, 50 more than Fespa’s previous Digital show in Hambury in 2011, will share an exhibition hall more than one-fifth larger than the previous space.
At least 50 new product launches are expected – Agfa, for example, will launch new Anapurna and Jeti printers.
Neil Felton, chief executive of Fespa, says, “Since its launch in 2006 Fespa Digital has always been a significant launch platform for the latest digital output and finishing equipment, software and new media and inks.
“Combined with the richest educational content programme we’ve ever delivered, printers who visit Fespa Digital 2014 are guaranteed to find new stimulation and fresh impetus for their business.”
Vertical expos and events like Fespa Digital promise to step into the breach as broader shows struggle to attract suppliers and visitors.
Numbers for Ipex were substantially down this year, hitting 22,768 including 3,532 exhibitors – its 2010 edition, branded the recovery show, made 50,000 attendees not including 20,000 exhibitors, agents and international media.
Despite this Ipex 2018 has been slated for March in four years’ time.
Australian printers are invited to make the trip to Messe Munich for the four days of Fespa Digital over May 20 to May 23.
