HP adds Latex printers for small to med players

Sign shops, fast turnaround outfits and small to medium printers are the target of HP’s new Latex 300 printer series.

The company says the range is a solid, affordable entry into short run work for small to mid printers and can expand large-format capabilities, offer new application areas and build a healthier production environment for this market.

Stephen Nigro, senior vice president of HP’s inkjet and graphics business, says, “Small to medium PSPs face the challenge of simultaneously addressing more applications to reach more customers while reducing costs and fitting in smaller spaces.

“Backed by proven HP Latex Technology, the new HP Latex 300 Printer series addresses these needs with durable quality and easy operation, helping customers break application boundaries and establish a competitive advantage.”

Using its water-based Latex inks in tandem with the Latex 300, the company says low-volume customers can more efficiently handle different outdoor and indoor applications, with improved durability and image quality.

HP South Pacific sign and display application specialist Jeremy Brew says HP’s Latex technology is flexible, dries instantly and can print on any media with “nearly unlimited” applications.

For small to medium printers HP is also introducing 60-inch large format inkjet printers, the HP Designjet Z6600 Production Printer and HP Designjet Z6800 Photo Production Printer.
