The AIP, Australian Institute of Packaging, will bring its Labelling and Matching the Label with the Package half-day course to Auckland in September.
The course will run during the Foodtech Packtech Show that takes place at the ASB Showgrounds in Greenlane. Dr Carol Lawrence, an environment and sustainability specialist at UPM Raflatac Oceania, will present the course. With a background in chemistry, including a PhD in polymer chemistry, Lawrence has 20 years in the industry. Recently, at UPM Raflatac, she has focused on the environmental aspects of self-adhesive labelling, combined with the sustainability of the raw materials used.
AIP has designed to give a comprehensive guide to labelling and how to navigate through the myriad of options available for
each style of packaging. Participants in the course will gain an understanding of the types of adhesives and their properties, which have been designed with specific selection criteria in mind. Lawrence will discuss how this is achieved
AIP says the course will benefit packaging technologists involved in designing and sourcing both primary brand labels and labels used throughout the supply chain of a product; brand owners who need to be familiar with the key selection criteria for product labels that are compatible with a variety of container types, where the prime label is key to the products identity; designers wanting to become familiar with labelling options that can be tailored to specific product marketing campaigns; and process and production managers involved in automated product labelling applications.
