Morgana finishing supplier Ferrostaal New Zealand has announced the imminent release of two new units: the Morgana DigiFold Pro 500 and the Morgana AutoCreaser Pro 500.
The new Digifold Pro 500 differs from its predecessor, offering a high capacity vacuum top feeder that can take sheet piles of up to 500mm compared to just 60mm. It handles paper stocks up to 400gsm at 6000 A4 sheets per hour. Other new features include dual creasing blades, which can be set for up or down creasing profiles as well as different creasing thicknesses and automatic set up of folding rollers, previously set manually.
Ian Gillanders, machinery sales manager with Ferrostaal New Zealand, says, “We are seeing a continued growth in digital print but, as page rates come down run rates are rising. Many clients have asked for a deeper pile so they can put the stack in and let it run rather than having to top it up frequently.”
The new Autocreaser Pro 500 offers a high capacity vacuum top feeder; a speed of 8500sph; dual creasing blades and matrix rather than the single blade of its predecessor. This means operators don’t need to change blades for different stocks.
Gillanders says, “The Autocreaser 500 provides two different profiles for hinge and spine creasing can now be selected, which is ideal for perfect binding work. Now operators can produce covers for perfect binding with the two different profiles of crease in a single pass.”
He says that the units will have an initial launch at this month’s Ipex show in London.
