Australian packaging companies are invited to sponsor two women from their staff to take part in a pilot mentoring programme designed to transform their professional and personal lives.
The Australian Institute of Packaging is teaming up with cultural change and coaching group Emberin to run the first Ignite Packaging programme, a self-paced development course that helps participants create new behaviour patterns and reinforce confidence.
The course will run over 12 weeks and feature guest speakers for fortnightly webinars. Emberin says it fits in with busy working schedules and provides an opportunity to develop new peer networking groups.
The AIP says the programme will give a boost to high-potential staff, and should result in stronger engagement levels and generally a significantly improved culture across the company. It aims to develop women’s thinking around their career and business, making them stronger assets for the industry.
It says, “The AIP believes there is a strong business case for attracting and retaining women across the packaging industry and Ignite Packaging addresses many of the obstacles experienced by women in a predominately male workforce.
“Ignite Packaging is quite simply about ensuring that the women in this industry can be the best they can be.”
The pilot programme was launched at this year’s AIP National Conference and aims to have all states represented; application forms are available on the AIP website and are due by July 25.
