Aldus recently obtained the Australian and New Zealand distributorship for the Italian brand. The Marchetti plate washers range in size from the Orion 45, with a maximum width of 450mm, up to models for wide web flexo printers.

Ian Guanaria, general manager of Aldus, says the machines are safe and easy to operate, with no special skills required. He tells APP, “A microprocessor controls the whole working cycle: washing, rinsing, drying, as well as the feeding speed.
“The machine has two tanks, containing the washing liquid and the rinsing liquid. Liquids are introduced into the tanks through pumps. The washing liquid and rinsing water are constantly recycled and filtered, allowing printers to save in use and respect the environment.”
Guanaria says the Marchetti range will complement the range of flexo cleaning products already supplied by Aldus, and that the cleanliness of the anilox rolls and plates is important in flexo printing as deterioration in either directly affects print quality.
He says, “Aldus has sold more than 50 Microclean anilox roll systems; they are found in almost every wide or narrow web plant around Australia and New Zealand. We have also for many years sold the Viceroy Lint Free wipes, which are widely used in the plate processing and cleaning process.”
Marchetti is a major manufacturer of plate washing and processing equipment in Europe, selling over 4000 machines a year to more than 40 countries. Established in 1986, it is based in Bologna, Italy.
