Ralph Moyle and Craig Wellman are the latest to be named Fellows of the Australian Institute of Packaging, recognising their contributions to the industry.
Ralph Moyle, packaging development officer with Simplot Australia and National President of the AIP, has worked in many areas over the last 40 years including quality management and control, operational management and packaging design and development.
Moyle has recently been working with the Packaging Covenant and in development of shelf friendly packaging – the fruits of which can currently be seen in stores around Australia and New Zealand.
The AIP says, “Ralph’s packaging knowledge has resulted in successful contemporary designs and material selections, improved shelf life, lower material costs, shorter supply chains and environmentally friendly selections for many companies.
“His technical expertise is of the highest standard in this industry.”
Craig Wellman, CEO of Sydney-based Wellman Packaging, has led his company to become a Tier One supplier of rigid packaging solutions for FMCG in food, pharmaceuticals, homecare, personal care and beverage.
Wellman says he has been engaged in plastics and packaging through his family business since the age of six. His passion is for packaging and process technology.
He is a leader in plastics technology and injection moulded closures, and holds a number of patents as an inventor, especially in injection moulded closures.
The grade of Fellow is the highest recognition available to AIP members. Moyle and Wellman join SunRice packaging development manager Jason Fields and former AIP president Pierre Pienaar in the honour.
