With just three months to go before Fespa 2005, the organisation team has confirmed that there are now almost 450 companies exhibiting at the show, covering around 25,000 sq metres of stand space. Fespa is the world’s biggest sign show, held every two years in Munich.

Commenting on the developments of the show, exhibitions director Frazer Chesterman says, “Even now, we are still registering new exhibitors and with less than 10 per cent of stand space now available, we are expecting a sell out show.”

“The additional space provided by the early introduction of a fourth hall has allowed us to accommodate the growing number of exhibitors from all sectors and has meant that we are better equipped to meet the demands of those requesting larger stand space. It has also allowed us to create an easier layout for visitors and exhibitors alike.”

In order to allow visitors to plan and prioritise before the show, Fespa has provided a tool to help create a shopping list of companies that visitors would like to see. On the Fespa 2005 website www.fespa2005.com there is a link to the online catalogue, where visitors can search alphabetically through the exhibitor list. Each exhibitor has a company profile. Visitors can search by product sector, company name or by country to find the exhibitors who offer the products and services they are interested in. There is also the option for visitors to download floor plans and to create their own personal plan, which they can print out and take to the show with them.

In addition to the Fespa 2005 Premier Awards, which recognises and rewards excellence in screenprinting and wide-format digital imaging production, Fespa will be running a youth competition, open to schools and training centres where screenprinting is taught and to company apprentices.

The judging panel will remain the same as the Fespa Premier Awards and will be selected from different countries. There will be three main awards presented, namely Gold, Silver and Bronze and all entries will be showcased alongside the Premier Awards Competition during Fespa 2005.

Both the online catalogue and youth competition complement the new initiatives announced previously by Fespa. Designed to enhance the visitor experience, they include a series of free educational seminars and workshops, a VIP programme and the Fespa show daily, which will be produced and distributed on the show floor, offering a daily digest of key news.

Fespa 2005 takes place in Munich Germany from Tuesday May 31 to Saturday June 4 June.
