Picon, the trade association for manufacturers and suppliers to the UK printing, papermaking and paper converting industries, bids farewell to chief executive John Brazier who leaves the organisation today.

Commenting on Brazier's departure, Roy Caslon, chairman of Picon says, "On behalf of Picon Council and its members, I would like to thank John for his outstanding commitment and contribution to the development of Picon over the past 12 years, and wish him every success for the future."

"Whilst the sale of IPEX to IIR/Informa last year secured the financial position of Picon’s future, it also created the opportunity for Picon Council to completely review the support services we offer our members and to re-assess the team required to fulfil those needs.

"Picon is now in a unique and secure position as a trade organisation to support its membership going forward."

Adds John Brazier, "I have enjoyed my time at Picon as chief executive and have taken great pride, during my tenure, with the support of dedicated staff, in working with Council to deliver the services package to the members.

"This, together with numerous other industry and external connections has enabled me to make a significant contribution to the development of Picon as a leading trade association."
