Aldus Engineering, agents of Mark Andy Comco in Australia, recently opened its doors to more than 80 customers for a technical evening held in conjunction with the Label And Tag Manufacturers Association (LATMA). Using the Mark Andy Scout press in the showroom, Peter Sage, Aldus marketing and sales manager, and Chuck Phillip from API Foils USA, gave demonstrations and spoke of how both cold and hot foil systems could be used and what each was capable of achieving.

Following this, Peter, and Geoff White of White & Gillespie, spoke about banded anilox rolls and the benefits of carrying out banded roll testing on presses to achieve optimum print quality with minimum ink usage.

Concluding the formal part of the evening, Kevin Murphy gave a brief instructional talk on anilox care and cleaning procedures, and Ben Casteldine of GMS discussed the requirements for water wash out plates.

An open forum session was followed by some typical Aussie hospitality, which brought the evening to a convivial close.
