The Lithographic Institute of Australia’s Queensland Branch has awarded its 2012 Graduate of the Year Award to Joshua Ankers from Inprint, Geebung.

The field of eight graduates was cut down to three finalists with Ankers taking out the award.

Gary Bender who was chairman of the judging committee says it was one of the toughest decisions in memory, as the quality of the graduates was so high. Emma Nugent from IPG Print in Brisbane took one of the two runner-ups positions with Philip Morgan from Laing O’Rourke in Brisbane securing the other.

Bernie Hockings, federal president, LIA says “It was fantastic to see the support of the employers and families here for the graduates. These graduates represent the future of our industry and from the looks of it, we are in good hands.”

David Clifton from Heidelberg was on hand to present the award to Ankers with Hans Oerlemans representing Inprint collecting the employer’s award.
