Agfa will focus on several key areas of prepress including computer-to-plate, digital proofing, workflow and consumables. Each of these key areas will be broken down to market specific applications with displays of CTP, workflow and proofing solutions for a variety of applications including newspaper, packaging and commercial print.

One major highlight will be the regional launch of the chemical free offset plate: Azura, which requires no chemicals, water or waste.

The Agfa CTP product range also includes fully automated violet-laser and thermal CTP platesetters in 4-up, 8-up and very large format (VLF) configurations as well as conventional and processless digital plates.

In the area of display and poster printers, Agfa will have solutions up to 87 inches wide.

The company will also have senior personnel on-hand to offer advice about its range of services including CMS Consultancy, JDF Consultancy, Graphic Arts Technical Service and Training, and Remote Systems Diagnostics.

Garry Muratore, regional marketing manager Agfa-Gevaert says, “The Agfa brand is highly recognisable. It means a lot to the printing and prepress sectors of the industry, but like any large corporation our mix of products and services are in a constant state of flux.

"The mix has to change to reflect industry trends and growth such as display and poster printing. Agfa has released new technologies that capitalise on this growth and PacPrint 05 will allow us to introduce these technologies to the local market".
