Clarendon pact with Contact

mergers & acquisitions
New company set to give its business a personal touch Sydney based printers Contact Printing and Clarendon Print will form a new merged entity as of April 7, 2003. Running under the moniker of Contact & Clarendon Printing, these two printers currently operating from Chatswood and Brookvale respectively, will form a larger general printing and finishing establishment providing a better service for both sets of existing and potential customers. The new company will be based from Contactís existing premises.

ìWith the downturn in the printing industry it is important we look forward and carefully plan our companyís future. We have known Clarendon for a long time and our client bases are very similar,î says Contact Printing director David Lee.

ìA merger allows companies to substantially reduce overhead costs whilst maximising production output. The current economic climate makes a merger a favourable growth option. With the combination of both our companyís staff and machinery, the business will have a healthy basis for future growth.î

According to Clarendon Print director Stephen Alfonso, ìitís a terrific opportunity to form a dynamic business by utilising the best of each companyís equipment.î

ìThe merger with Contact Printing is a logical step as both companies have good compatibility in both client base and press power.î The new company will utilise the existing presses of Contact and Clarendon will introduce a folding and binding line completing the complement.
