The South Australian and Northern Territory Printing Industries Craftsmanship Awards (PICAs), showcasing the finest in print across the two central Australian states, was held last month at the Adelaide Convention Centre. The night proved not only to be an opportunity for the industry to relax and bask in its collective success, it also served as the forerunner to next year’s National Print Awards, with all Gold Medal winners from the night automatically being entered.All up, 29 printers received a golden, silver or bronze nod across the 34 categories, however the evening was dominated by two printers: Finsbury Green Printing, which picked up ten gold, seven silver, and eight bronze; and Van Gastel Printing, which received five gold and four silver.
Van Gastel Printing was also honoured with an award for "Best Overall Production" for South Australian, while Colemans Printing picked up the same award for the Northern Territory.
