George Williams, a veteran of the Australian print supply industry, has been appointed state manager NSW/ACT for Cyber Australia, distributors of Ryobi and Akiyama presses. Williams is well-known to printers having worked for more than 40 years selling and supporting a variety of capital equipment and consumables.

Over the years, he has worked with some of the best-known supply companies in the industry, among them F.T. Wimble, Croda, Edwards Dunlop Graphics and Maruka Machinery.

During his five year stint at Maruka Machinery in the late 1980s, Williams was responsible for the sale of 28 Akiyama presses.

He spent some time in the prepress side of the business with Quality Litho, prior to becoming a partner in supply business, Prolith, from 1991 to 2006 when he sold his interest in the business.

Williams is looking forward to meeting customers old and new and to introducing them to what he calls the smart technology from Ryobi and Akiyama which will help printers add value to their businesses.

A life member and fellow of the Lithographic Institue of Australia (LIA), Williams says “you get out of this industry what you put into it”.

He is looking forward to re-introducing himself to the industry in his new role with Cyber and believes the company has plenty of profitable technologies to offer to printers in Australia.
