Image Expo 04, the premier exhibition for the screenprinting, wide format digital imaging, signmaking and associated industries, kicks off tomorrow at the Hordern Pavilion at Fox Studios in Sydney. Organisers Cygnet Exhibitions say the show, which will run over three days, has experienced solid demand for exhibitor space, promising the event will be a showcase the latest and greatest in signage and wide-format printing products. Organisers says that Image Expo 04 will provide visitors with a clear insight into the pace at which wide format technology is driving the industry and what these changes mean for industry members. For instance, flat bed wide format digital presses were new to the market during Image Expo 02, but today they are an established segment of the wide format industry. Solvent inks are also setting the pace by increasingly broadening the range of useable substrates as well as lengthening their outdoor life.

Screenprinting systems will also make a big splash at the show, and with the organisers promising a diverse range of new prepress, press and postpress technologies, newly developed inks and colour matching systems, more substrate options, and chemistries, the show will be a must see event for screenprinters. The large textile sector of screenprinting will also be well represented at the show, as will signmaking equipment and consumables.

Other related processes, such as pad printing, laminating equipment, welding systems, software and many pre-press options will also feature at Image Expo ‘04.

Stan Kilpin of Cygnet Exhibitions, says, "Unlike other conventional shows Image Expo 04 specifically targets the visual graphics professional rather than the whole gamut of print and pre-press activities. I know that like the last Image Expo, the unique nature of the show and the continuing rapid growth of the visual graphics sector will ensure good quality visitor numbers."
