The dates and board members for PacPrint 05 have been announced. The event is scheduled to be held in Melbourne from Tuesday May 24 to Saturday May 28 2005. Spanning five days, PacPrint 05 will bring the world of printing and graphic technologies to Melbourne and is once again anticipated to fill the halls of the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre.

Presented by the Graphic Arts Merchants Association of Australia (GAMAA), and in association with the Printing Industries Association of Australia (PIAA), PacPrint 05 will provide the industry with access to the latest technologies, solutions, services, equipment and products.
The event, which is the largest of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere may sport a new look in 2005 with the Board considering a number of design factors including limiting exhibits to ground level.

Ron Patterson, PacPrint chairman of the board, says, "In the past we’ve seen very elaborate stand designs, some of which have featured multi-storey structures. Whilst they may look good, multi-level designs are problematic from a number of viewpoints; cost, safety of structure, insurance. In this age where occupational health and safety issues are hot on the agenda, and insurance policies are skyrocketing, it may be smarter to create a format for the show that ensures safety and at the same time keeps costs down for exhibitors.

"Should we proceed in this vein visitors will still see state-of-the-art stand designs and we encourage exhibiting companies to be creative and present a show that exemplifies the technological savvy that has propelled the industry into being one of the most automated and streamlined in the world."

The PacPrint 05 Board comprises representatives from GAMAA and PIAA as follows:
Chairman - Ron Patterson, with Alastair Hadley, Barry McDonald, Brett Maishman and Jordan Reizes representing GAMAA, with Chris Segeart, Trevor Hone and Peter Lane representing PIAA.
