The Afta AGM held on the second morning of the conference elected a new Council. Chairman for the year is Espak’s plant manager Shane Pearce. Mr Pearce was the Council member responsible for producing the new Apprentice of the Year award. He says, "It is an honour to be elected chairman. I feel passionately about flexo, and see this an opportunity to give something back to an industry that has been good to me. I will continue the focus on people that retiring chairman Andrew Maxwell and the previous Council instigated, and will look to maintain the relevance of Afta to the industry, building on the success of the industry workshops we had this year for instance." Mr Pearce has also vowed to encourage Afta participation from companies not currently members of the association. Afta Council :
Shane Pearce (chairman) - Espak
Kym Bridges – MacDermid
David Geering – Laserlife
Bob Jago – Espak
Iain Kennedy – Aldus Graftek
Rob King – Coates
James Luttick – Multiflex
Paul Thacker – Du Pont
