NSW State Opposition Leader, Peter Debnam MP, will open this year’s PrintNSW Excellence Awards to be held at Crowne Plaza Hotel Coogee, on Friday September 15. Now in its third year, the awards are an annual event for NSW printers, recognising their excellence and innovation in the NSW printing industry; giving credit to the tremendous achievement, commitment and dedication shown by staff over the period of 12 months.

Printing Industries NSW General Manager, Robert Fuller, says, the opposition leader’s decision to open the PrintNSW awards this year, is further recognition by politicians, of the value of the printing industry in NSW.

“PrintNSW Awards are now clearly acknowledged by NSW Government policy makers as the peak industry awards for the print, graphic and visual communications industry,” he says.

“We are delighted that the Leader of the Opposition is able to join with us to celebrate the industry’s achievements, in business and product excellence,” says Fuller.

Dramatic changes to last year’s award program, is sure to make this year’s award night swing like a circus trapeze. This year, a young, sassy group called The String Divas, have been hired, to provide the evening’s main entertainment, and popular dance band Mojo will kick-on after the formalities.

“The Association in NSW is enhancing its performance and industry perceptions by providing a first class evening that will match any other industry awards evening,” says Fuller.

Debnam, also the State Member for Vaucluse, Shadow Treasurer, Shadow Minister for Western Sydney, Shadow Minister for Redfern and Waterloo and Shadow Minister for Citizenship, also served in the Royal Australian Navy from 1972-80. His industry address at the award ceremony, will give printers insight into potential changes to policies and directions to businesses, should there be a change of State government after the March 2007 State Election.

Entering the PrintNSW Excellence Awards, brings a range of rewards for businesses. Some benefits are; the opportunity for new business opportunities and the opportunity to increase market share, as well as the raising of the businesses profile by publicity at Regional, State and National levels.
