Members still have two weeks until early bird entries for the Australian Sign and Graphic Awards close. ASGA encourages talented professionals who are looking for more than a payment from their work to enter.

Entries received up until March 30 will not have to pay an entry fee, which will be $27.50 per entry up to three entries then no charge will be applied to further entries, after this date. Entry for non members is $66 per entry. Entry for apprentices is free.

Last year was the awards’ inaugural year, and 250 people took part. Participants ranged from business professionals to apprentices. Striking results showed the impact of effective industry involvement, and last year’s awards have inspired many to enter this year already.

The awards aim to help those in the industry to gain an understanding of how work can be made more meaningful, and what makes people proud of their work, and of their employers.

New skills based categories include: vinyl (non digital), vehicle wraps (digital and non digital), airbrushing or handpainted murals, traditional signcraft skills, showcard skills, screenprinting, engraving, router and laser output, carving/ sculpture, fabrication, neon bending and lighting effects, illumination - other than neon, digital print output, original in-house design concept, directional, wayfinding and statutory signage, self promotion, work by an apprentice (first year), work by an apprentice second to fourth year), and industry training and development.

For those who have an interest in entering the ASGA Awards and want to see how entering can help your business, a meeting will be held in Sydney, at Mulfords Plastics, Silverwater, on March 28.
