The 2007 Pride In Print Awards are spreading their wings to include more scope for entries in the packaging, label, sheetfed printing and bookbinding areas, while encouraging entries that have environmental and creative merit. The deadline for entry into the awards is January 31.

Organiser Sue Archibald, says there is a special offer this year to all entrants. The special promotional offer in the form of a “voucher” will give all companies one free entry into the 2007 campaign. This can be obtained from patrons and sponsors of the awards programme

“With many companies throughout the NZ print industry sectors now considering what may be their best pieces of work to be completed in the 2006 calendar year, it would pay to be aware that the breadth of the awards has been updated and redefined to take cognisance of changes happening in the industry,” she says.

“One of the main improvements we have made is the Environmental Category. This is increasingly becoming a political and contentious issue for clients and the end users of print, and therefore printers are now feeling the pressure.”

“Items entered into this category need to demonstrate how environmental considerations have influenced the choice of design, printing technology and the materials employed in achieving the end result,” she adds.
