Two new regional managers are among a line-up of new staff at paper merchant BJ Ball Papers that includes a new account manager and cadet. Craig Gillingham has been appointed Auckland region manager with responsibility for the top half of the North Island and Richard Hislop moves to central region manager, based in Wellington. His area covers the lower half of the North Island.

Gillingham has had nearly 20 years experience in senior sales management and sales directorship positions with major UK paper merchants including Caxton Group, Papyrus GB, Paper Flow, MoDo merchants and James Macnaughton Paper.

He has been particularly successful in managing key customer relationships, personally winning major sales and motivating sales teams. Craig is also a Fellow of the National Association of Paper Merchants.

Richard Hislop has returned to Wellington having held management positions in Christchurch and Auckland over the past six years. He has extensive experience in the paper industry and has a BCA degree from Victoria University of Wellington with majors in finance and economics.

A member of 1996 New Zealand Eisenhower Trophy golf team, Hislop represented the country for about seven years before embarking on a professional career.

The company’s new account manager, Jason Brown has recently been involved with the acquisition, integration and sales coordination of the MAKtec self-adhesive division. He will continue to service some customers together with a range of clients in the traditional sheet fed printing market. Brown has a B.Comm. degree majoring in commercial law from the University of Auckland.

Stephen Williams has joined as a cadet. He graduated Bachelor of Management Studies from Waikato University, majoring in marketing and strategic management. His initial assignment has been to the company’s DesignLine sample service.
