Auckland screenprinter Original Screen scooped the President's Award for the third time at the SGIAA Screen and Digital Print Awards in Sydney recently.

Original Screen took out the President's Award for their entry 'Over the Hedge', which had already won Gold in the 'Backlit Signs and Displays' category. From seven entries submitted, Original Screen took out six category awards (two Gold, one Silver and three Bronze) as well as the President's Award for Screenprinting for the third time. Two of the entries were printed by apprentices -'New World Window Display' by Damon Atiga and 'Telecom Show card by Dylan Southan.

Original Screen's Cyril Southan says: "This result was amazing. I have been to the awards numerous times now and the feeling you get when your company wins the President's Award for top in screen in Australasia is very special. We have a very good team of people who all deserve praise for their efforts in producing these prints - from sales, prepress and the printshop through to finishing. Also, special mention must go to our up and coming apprentices who are the future of any industry for the results they achieved at these Awards"

Also receiving accolades at the July event were Auckland's Permark Industries, APC Innovate and Christchurch's Markit Graphics. Permark picked up a Bronze in the 'Touch Pads' category along with a Silver and Bronze in the 'Screenprinted on Pressure Sensitive Material' category. APC Innovate won Silver in the 'Special Awards Student Awards' category while Markit Graphics won Silver in the 'Touch Pads' category.
