Gallus sales rising

The Gallus Group has expanded its market position and increased turnover in 2004 to Swiss Francs 187m. The company says the label-printing sector benefited in 2004 from the improved global economic climate. However, the continuing depreciation of the US dollar created a disadvantage in doing business in North America and Asia. Against this background, the Gallus Group increased the turnover to CHF187m, (2003: CHF183m), signifying a rise of 2 per cent. On a currency-neutral basis, the increase in turnover amounted to 4 per cent.

The introduction of new products, the expansion of the market position in North America and the consistent management of key accounts in a customer environment undergoing an increasingly dynamic concentration process, were crucial for strengthening the market position.

Since 1999, Gallus has been in partnership with Heidelberg. Gallus employs 510 people, 300 in Switzerland. The group is based in St. Gallen.
