Pegasus wins Latma best of Show

Best in Show: the Johnnie Walker Red Label was judged the best Australian label of the year

Pegasus Printing is judged to have produced Australia's best label, winning the Latma Best of Show Label Award at the association's bi-annual conference on the Sunshine Coast.

Selected from the 11 Gold winners, the winning label was entered in the flexographic colour process sector, and was a Johnny Walker red Label Whisky label.

Other Gold winners were AC Labels inn the digital printing sector, Labelmakers in flexo line and screen, Labelworld in letterpress line and screen, Fantastic Labels in letterpress colour, Label House in multi process line and screen, Clear Image Labels in multi-process colour process, Labelworld in Offset, Labelmakers in Offset line and screen and Collotype Labels in Wet Gum.

Awards chairman Peter Sage, officiating for the third and final time, told the Awards audience that the standard of entries, and the numbers entered, were both higher than ever.

Former co-owner of AC Labels, Bill Andrews, will take over the chair next time.

Judges were Rod Urquhart, Iain Kennedy, Joe Cleary, and Mike Davies from Salma New Zealand.
