Southern Cross Awards 2003 open for entries The Packaging Council of Australia has announced that the annual Southern Cross Packaging Awards are now open for entries for the 2003 season. Now in their 18th year the Awards are open to all full and part-time students in Australia, and carry a first prize of $3000 and the opportunity to travel to an overseas design conference. The 2002 Awards drew some 450 entries.

The aim of the Awards is to stimulate, challenge and stretch. The awards will challenge students to create innovative solutions to packaging design. The final product will be viewed by sponsors, industry members, lecturers, students and the public at the Southern Cross Package Design Awards Exhibition to be held in Melbourne. Visit www.packcoun.com.au for more information. Last yearís winner was Paul Weaver from Queensland.
