Fuji Xerox sells first new gen Plockmatic

Fuji Xerox has already sold the first of the new generation Plockmatic in-line booklet making system, engineered for production printing.

Alistair Egan, product manager PSBG Fuji Xerox New Zealand, says, “We are looking forward to supplying more of these booklet making systems for the New Zealand market. We enjoyed great success with the previous model and have tested the new systems rigorously with excellent results.”

Chris Toll, regional sales manager for Plockmatic Australia New Zealand, says, “These new systems allow print providers to deliver high quality booklets of various sizes on the widest range of today’s digital paper stocks, whilst maintaining full printer speed.”

The systems attach to the Fuji Xerox 800/1000 Digital Presses and the Nuvera Production Systems. The Pro50 and Pro35 produce booklets of up to 50 sheets or 35 sheets respectively, which Toll says marks a first in this class. They can combine with the optional Plockmatic RCT unit, which rotates sheets; creases covers on the fly; eliminates image cracking; and trims each page to allow for full bleed applications inline.

Toll says, “The operator experience has been enhanced with the addition of a large touch screen that allows fine adjustments of staple and fold position during the run. The SquareFold and fore edge trimmer have been enhanced to produce a high quality thick booklet. The SquareFold allows for the perfect-bound look for a fraction of the cost. Square printable spine, flat booklets and the security of a stapled set make for a professional booklet. The new fore edge trimmer features Smart Knife technology to allow up to 25mm trim and improved handling of the set for trimming.

He concludes, “These new systems demonstrate Plockmatic’s continuing commitment to help print providers of all sizes bring more value to their clients. Fuji Xerox representatives can provide more details or anyone can visit our web site.”
