Graphic Systems Australasia (GSA) made a successful debut appearance at PacPrint05 with good sales of violet-light CTP systems, following the worldwide trend for rapid take-up of violet-laser technology from Fujifilm. Sales of Fujifilm’s violet light CTP systems at PacPrint05 included a semi-automatic B1-size Luxel Vx-9600 CTP system to a customer in Victoria and two semi-automatic B2-size Luxel V-6 CTP systems to sites in NSW and Queensland. These came on the back of strong interest shown in the violet-light technology and numerous good leads for local distributor, GSA.At the same time, Fujifilm has also announced the sale of its 1000th violet CTP system since its introduction at Ipex 2002. The 1000th machine, a Luxel V-6 CTP B2-size platesetter, is due to be installed at UK-based Kingfisher Press.
Terry Crawford, GSA’s business unit manager – Electronics, says, "Fujifilm’s strong commitment to violet-light technologies has been fully justified by the rapid take-up of these systems worldwide since they were introduced. "The interest shown at PacPrint builds on the success we’ve had with these systems over the past couple of year and reinforces our leadership in this field.
"Violet-light CTP systems offer a number of advantages including reduced cost of ownership, ease of use and environmental friendliness combined with great productivity and exceptional quality. The result is that, when it comes to CTP, the Fujifilm violet-light systems are the obvious choice for many people in the industry.
"At the same time, violet-light technology is continuing to grow and develop in tandem with our customers’ expectations. That means users can be confident of investing in a technology with a guaranteed future and with the backing of one of the largest prepress technology suppliers in the world."
GSA also recorded strong results in another of its areas of expertise, digital proofing. Three Proof Manager systems, the ground-breaking soft proofing package from local developers, Pentnet, are bound for New Zealand and, in NSW, there were sales of the Blackmagic Pro proofing software with Epson 9600 inkjet proofer and Fujifilm’s Doubleproof imposition proofer.
The launch of the new version of Fujifilm’s Celebrant Version 6 and Blackmagic v3.1 also resulted in numerous upgrades to existing sites.
"Overall, it was a great show for GSA and a fantastic opportunity to meet with customers and show them what we are capable of delivering," added Terry.
For the benefit of customers who may have missed out on the PacPrint exhibition, Terry was keen to point out that the PacPrint special offers on Fujifilm equipment are available until June 30. These include:
