Indonesian publisher, Indopersda Primamedia (Persda), has ordered two Goss Community SSC four-high towers and one folder for daily newspapers, Tribun Timur and Kompas Daily, in Makassar, South Sulawesi.
The new four-high towers and folder will be added to an existing Community SSC press installed in 2002 to increase colour and pagination of the newspapers from 24 pages to 44 pages.
Carolus Budiarto, executive manager at Persda, says, "We have many years of experience with Community SSC presses across our portfolio of products and locations and find they are very easy to use and deliver consistently good quality.
"The service and support we receive from Goss International is excellent – even if the presses were manufactured in 1970, they are able to supply spare parts to keep us up and running."
With headquarters in Jakarta, Persda publishes 11 regional newspapers across three time zones in Indonesia. Titles include Serambi Indonesia, Pos Kupang, Tribun Kaltim, Banjarmasin Post and Pos Kupang with circulations ranging from 12,000 to 28,000 copies per day.
Herman Darmo, managing director of Persda, adds, "All of our newspapers are different in terms of profitability but we have never closed a paper. Eventually we hope to publish newspapers in all 33 provinces of Indonesia."
Persda is a member of Indonesian media giant, Kompas Gramedia Group (KKG). KKG was established in 1963 and is now the biggest publishing group in Indonesia.
