Printing press manufacturer Omet is celebrating its fiftieth anniversary, as the company prepares for the milestone with a series of events dedicated to customers, the press and the employees.
Celebrations will begin at Tissue World in Barcelona in March 2013 with a booth dedicated to the 50th Anniversary, followed by May celebrations that will include an event dedicated to the trade press and opinion leaders. Here, a book will be presented called ‘OMET 50 years of Passion and Excellence’ and an open house will be held in parallel with the Converflex Show in Milan.
A gala dinner dedicated to major world customers in the printing and packaging sector will follow.
The celebrations will continue at Labelexpo Europe 2013 in Brussels and end with an internal event dedicated to the employees of the entire group.
Omet has also announced that O-Pac, the group company active in the production of wet wipes, has moved to a new plant, while the Omet Systems in Motion division was transferred to Valmadrera, near Lecco, to a larger and more modern complex.
In the Machinery division the anniversary year sees a separation into two different factories: the printing press plant manufacturing remains in Via Polvara while the tissue converting branch was relocated at the end of 2012 to the historic Omet site in Via Caduti a Fossoli, renovated inside and out and equipped with a new powerful photovoltaic system.
The Via Polvara site is undergoing some renovation to the exterior and in some of the internal structures, including the Technology Center.
