KW Doggett on behalf of the JPE and LIA hosted a plant tour at its 13,000sqm Enfield site, attracting over 50 people from the industry who came to see how the paper merchant operates.
James McGrath, NSW state manager, KW Doggett says, “I was asked by JPE for an information night. We want to showcase our environment so people can see how a paper merchant works, to see what happens inside the walls. It is to show people how we run.”
He says “It was a great turnout, I feel good to see so many people wanting to see how we operate. We want to showcase what we do to our customers and people in the industry.”
KW Doggett has been at the Enfield site since 2009 steadily growing over the last nine years, a period which has seen them move three times, their first warehouse was 3000sqm, the second 5000sqm and the current warehouse spanning a massive 13,000sqm. Stock held in the current warehouse at any one time has a value of around $13m.
McGrath says packaging is a growing industry, and KW Doggett is increasing its presence there. McGrath says, “Packaging is something we were introduced to a couple of years ago, we have put a bit of money in, it’s a growing market and we want to be on board with it.”
Brad Smith, director, Colour Print Solutions says, “The tour was fantastic and informative, it’s good to see how paper is being made and to see the warehouse and how the paper is being looked after. Doggett is our main supplier and it’s nice to see how it all happens. It’s also a good thing the LIA, JPE and Doggett are organising events such as this.”
Peter Munro, offset specialist, Agfa says, “KW Doggett, LIA and the JPE have all to be thanked for, they have done a great job, not only in showcasing the paper merchant but also engaging the print industry.”
