Auspack gears up

appointments  Auspak
With less than six weeks to go until Auspack opens its doors the exhibition organisers, APMA, is as pleased as punch with the progress of the show as space sales have risen to a record amount. Current space booked stands at 6820 square metres, some 17 per cent higher than the figure achieved in 2001, and APMA expects some last minute bookings to take the space over the 7000 square metre mark for the first time. APMA (Australian Packaging Machinery Association) chairman Jim Strang said the increased space was due to both previous exhibitors upping their space levels, and new exhibitors coming into the frame. His own company Heat and Control booked 96 square metres in 2001, but this year Heat and Control’s booth as risen to a size of 150 square metres in 2003.

So far some 200 exhibitors have booked in for the show, and between them they will present around 800 product brands. Auspack takes place at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre from Sept 30-Oct 3. Doors open at 10am every day, doors close at 5pm on Tues, Weds and Friday, 6.30pm on Thursday.

Wednesday at 5pm sees APMA host a cocktail reception Awards of Excellence event.
