Bert Guy steps down from Amcor Amcor’s Company Secretary, Bert Guy, will be retiring from the company at the end of April 2005, following 16 years of distinguished and valued service.Following his announced retirement, Amcor has appointed Julie McPherson, currently a partner with Parry Carroll in Sydney, who will become Company Secretary and Group General Counsel to Amcor Limited, as from April 18.
Together with her broad legal experience as a partner of Parry Carroll, McPherson brings to Amcor extensive experience in executive, legal and commercial positions in a number of prominent organisations, including as Company Secretary and General Counsel at Goodman Fielder, as well as senior roles at Dresdner Kleinwort Benson and Corrs Chambers Westgarth.
During the confirmation of this new appointment at the last Board Meeting, Amcor’s Directors placed on record their sincere thanks and deep appreciation for the long and respected service by Bert Guy over his last 16 years with the company.
