New to the PAGA team at Canon (clockwise from top left): Tony Neal, Werner Pluess, Ling Wong, Jim Street, Kit Andrews and Kirsty Beed
Canon Australia has announced seven appointments that underlie its commitment to the production and graphic arts industry. "Canon is absolutely committed to providing Australia’s production and graphic arts industry with the product they require and the people they deserve,” says Kit Andrews, national manager, Production and Graphic Arts, Canon Australia.
“Product is a given, as in 2006 we’re launching a completely new family of digital production presses, dubbed imagePRESS. But our investment in people is even more important than this, as people are the key to ensuring a consistent customer experience nationwide while addressing the unique needs of every sector and region.”
To ensure a consistent customer experience nationwide, Canon Australia has appointed Kirsty Beed to the position of operations manager. Beed will provide national support to the sales team in every state. She will also ensure they understand the unique demands of the industry, such as its cashflow cycles and the imperative for guaranteed response times.
While Canon has a national strategy for the industry as a whole, it also recognises that the various sectors have specific needs. For this reason, Canon has appointed Justin Turner to the position of business development manager, In-plant; Werner Pluess to the position of business development manager, Quick Print; and Ling Wong to the position of business development manager, Graphic Arts.
These business development managers will engage clients at the highest level, operating nationally. They will also support Canon’s salesforce in the field on special projects.
The Business Development Managers will be supported by a national professional services consultant, Jim Street, who also reports directly to Kit Andrews. Street will use the resources of Tony Neal, who is experienced in product testing and colour management, to ensure Canon develops solutions that respond to customer needs and implements them in way that is completely seamless.
Recognising that businesses in Australia’s two largest states can have quite different needs and priorities, Canon’s recognises that its approach must be relevant to both markets as well as to businesses in every corner of the country. With this in mind, Canon has appointed Darren Scheggia to the position of production and graphic arts (PAGA) sales manager, Victoria, and Dan Laybutt, to the position of PAGA sales manager, NSW.
