Changes in region for Kodak GCG

The Kodak Graphic Communications group has continued to grow successful business across Australia and New Zealand through 2006, with six Nexpress digital Press sales so far this year. Kodak says its CTP sales up are by 33 per cent year on year and consumable sales are growthing very strongly, in particular Digital Plates, most notably Kodak’s Thermal Direct processless plate. These figures have been accompanied by strong sales of Kodak’s Unified Workflow platform and Portal products. Kodak GCG has announced management changes throughout the region:

Regional Greater Asia Region

Gustavo Oviedo will assume the role of GAR managing director and be responsible for the overall Greater Asia Region business performance, reporting to Andrew Copley. He will continue to be responsible for the customer focused teams in the INSEAN clusters and pick up responsibility for all the operations and functional support activities for the total Greater Asia Region, including Greater China Region GCR. In this role, Oviedo will manage all business operations for the entire Greater Asia Region.

Haixiang Shen will continue as the chairman and executive director for Greater China reporting to Jeff Jacobson. He will manage the customer-focused teams and maintain the strategic focus of building the business in this high growth geography. In this role, Shen will be the GCG leader for China, the highest growth area for GCG in Asia.

Shen’s many years of experience in the China graphics business is proving to be very valuable in building GCG in this dramatically expanding market. He will utilise the Beijing Olympics to assist in driving profitable growth through broad-based business development opportunities. He will work very closely with Greater Asia Region managing director, Oviedo.

Digital Print and Inkjet Printing Solutions (IPS)

Steve Green, currently the managing director of ANZ will continue in this role and also take on the responsibility for Kodak Digital Print & Inkjet Printing Solutions Business marketing director for the INSEAN Region. In this additional role, Green will report to Purushotham Venkat, general manager, Digital Printing Services & Vice-President, GCG and Isidre Rosello, general manager, Transaction and Industrial Solutions & Vice-President, GCG, both based in the US.

Meanwhile, Peter Foley has left Kodak after 28 years of service. Kodak expressed its appreciation to Foley for his dedication in establishing the Digital Print business in Asia. The Kodak Digital Print transition for INSEAN to Green is effective immediately.

New Zealand

Derek Fretwell, general manager of the Graphic Communications Group New Zealand, has resigned effective November 28 2006. He initially established Creo NZ, and in addition to his New Zealand duties served as a director of Creo Australia Pty Ltd until the Kodak acquisition of Creo.

As general manager of GCG New Zealand, Fretwell led the very strong sales and support team that took Kodak to the forefront of the New Zealand industry.

In thanking Fretwell for his service and wishing him well in his future endeavors, Kodak announced that Steve Green, managing director, Graphic Communications Group ANZ will assume total responsibility for the important New Zealand business effective November 29, ably supported by Kodak GCG New Zealand and Australian leadership teams.
