Melbourne print communications company Courtney has installed Australia’s first HP Indigo 10000 digital press, to capitalise on opportunities in book printing, packaging, direct mail and POS.
Aldo Burcheri, director, Courtney says, “We installed the HP Indigo 10000 so that we could operate more effectively in the shorter run market for catalogues, POS, boutique packaging and A2 size prints, where there are few or no economically viable solutions.”
Burcheri says, “We are traditionally a high quality offset printing house, and the new installation offers the quality of offset printing, with the fast turnaround time and customisation options of digital printing.”
The press’s digital capacity enables shorter print runs of copies, Burcheri says, “We continually look for ways to operate more sustainably, and the HP Indigo 10000 enables us to waste fewer materials and less energy. Another advantage of the simplified make-ready process is increased capacity, and therefore higher profitability.”
The new HP Indigo 10000 Digital Press will join the HP Indigo 5500 Press, installed at Courtney in 2009.
Burcheri says, “We are delighted to have found a reliable digital press, backed by the supportive team at Currie Group that replicates the quality of offset whilst bringing so many more benefits. Bonuses such as variable data capability, large substrate capacity up to 400gsm, fast make-ready time and operation speed mean that we can continue to be known for the same high quality print standards that we pride our company on delivering, whilst tapping into new markets and driving our business forward.”
Phillip Rennell, sales and marketing director, Currie Group says, “Currie Group is thrilled to be installing the HP Indigo 10000 at Courtney. Since installing its first HP Indigo press, Courtney has challenged and developed its business model in order to grow its digital business and increase its product offering. The additional productivity and versatility of the HP Indigo 10000 will enable Courtney to further develop its business with products and services made possible by the B2 format.”
