Esko-Graphics was one of the big innovators at drupa, and the company’s New Zealand distributor Frontline Graphic Systems is doing big things with the expanded product range. "Esko-Graphics is getting bigger as a company and we’re growing with it," says Frontline’s Paul Gibson.Esko-Graphics‚ vice president Asia Pacific Jean-Pierre De Moor says that Frontline has been a perfect fit in New Zealand: "Nobody would accept a visit from their supplier only once a year. Frontline have been very good for us in New Zealand, and do an excellent job."
De Moor says that Esko-Graphics now has a very clear vision of the future and that, two years after the merger, the company‚s product range is well and truly established.
Gibson says that the support Frontline receives from Esko-Graphics‚ Oceania general manager Peter Henderson, and his organisation, is second to none.
New Zealand customers get two tiered support with Frontline providing service in New Zealand and call centres in Singapore and Scandinavia meaning there is always somebody, 24 hours a day to take calls.
The lines between commercial and packaging printing are blurring and often it is difficult to tell the two apart, De Moor says.
Gibson agrees: "Commercial printers are often struggling to establish margins, and when they‚re looking at how to make money, they’re often looking at packaging."
Esko-Graphics‚ approach of Clear Ideas, Smart Tools, More Value‚ was emphasised at drupa and it also fits with Frontline’s approach in New Zealand.
De Moor says that Esko-Graphics‚ new products launched at drupa, such as the Espresso, computer to conventional plate device, will be available in New Zealand and that Frontline will continue to be a large part of the company’s plans.
"Frontline brings our products to market and provides excellent technical support. They have made their reputation with service and proved that you don’t have to be huge to be successful," says de Moor.
