The competition closes this Friday, February 1, and chairman of the National Print Awards, Scott Telfer, says there will be no extension to that date. He says, "We are expecting a record number of entries for this milestone Awards competition and we encourage anyone with work they believe demonstrates Excellence in Print to take the opportunity to have their work assessed alongside the very best of Australian printing."
To be eligible, work must have been produced between January 1 2007 and December 31 2007, and entries should be prepared carefully to ensure they have the best possible chance at a coveted Gold, Silver or Bronze award. Telfer says, "Check each entry carefully for individual faults as we often have instances where a single fault - which is in all likelihood not representative of the run - eliminates an otherwise excellent entry from consideration. Ensure you package your entries carefully to make sure no damage is sustained during transit, make sure you include your entry fees, and doublecheck your entry form to make sure you've filled it our completely and correctly. Extra copies can be downloaded from www.nationalprintawards.com.au
"Everyone listed as involved in the production will be recognised if your entrywins an award, so take particular care to check the accuracy of the information on all job participants," he adds.
Entries should be addressed to the National Print Awards, and must be received at Printing Industries National headquarters at Unit 3, 5-7 Compark Circuit, Mulgrave, Victoria, 3170, by close of business on February 1, 2008.
Judging will take place later that month.
Winners announced at the 25th National Print Awards Presentation Dinner at Palladium at Crown in Melbourne's Southbank precinct, on Wednesday April 16, a night which Telfer says will be a fitting culmination to the NPA's first quarter of a century.
Telfer says, "Plans are already well underway for what promises to be a memorable evening celebrating the history of the NPA and, of course, the outstanding achievements of the Australian graphic arts industry, which these awards
have consistently shown to be among the very best in the world."
