Developer and manufacturer of document finishing technology, Plockmatic International has acquired rival operation Morgana Systems to grow its business.

The acquisition expands the two companies’ distribution capacity and product line, Morgana will be a wholly owned subsidiary of Plockmatic. The Swedish firm’s CEO, Jan Marstorp, will head the new group as Morgana will remain at its offices in Milton Keynes, UK, where Quen Baum will continue as managing director.

Both companies manufacture finshing solutions for the smaller and digital printer. Chris Toll, account manager for ANZ and Asia, Plockmatic International told Australian Printer, “At this point it is business as usual, but we hope that the strengths of both companies will offer opportunities to help each other. The excellent Morgana distribution network is one of the reasons Plockmatic chose to acquire Morgana. We will look for opportunities to combine our product portfolios in different ways to meet customer requirements all over the world.”

Morgana Systems is a leader in the development and sales of off-line document finishing technology. Their products are sold through a direct sales force in the UK and a network of distributors around the world. In Australia Morgana had a deal with Ferrostaal.

Plockmatic supplies in-line booklet making systems custom designed for the mid-range digital print segment. Plockmatic also manufactures a range of off-line booklet makers sold through independent distributors worldwide and a versatile mail-feeding system available through distributors and OEM partners.

Plockmatic International is part of Grimaldi Industri Group, a diversified Stockholm-based holding company.
