Fujifilm Australia, NZ bring GA business inhouse
Fujifilm Holdings Australasia Pty Ltd CEO, Mike Machida, today formally announced the acquisition of the Fujifilm graphic arts distribution business in Australia and New Zealand by Fujifilm Australia Pty Ltd and Fujifilm NZ Limited respectively, from Graphic Systems Australasia Pty Limited and Graphic Systems Australasia (NZ) Limited (GSA), part of the MAN Ferrostaal Group. The graphic arts business has been operating as Fujifilm Graphic Systems, a division within each of Fujifilm Australia Pty Ltd and Fujifilm NZ Limited since October 1.
"GSA has been the exclusive distributor in Australia and New Zealand for the Fujifilm range of graphic arts products since April 2003, making it a suitable acquisition for the Fujifilm group as it continues to aggressively diversify its business portfolio of imaging and information technologies," says Fujifilm in a statement.
"As a specialist supplier of equipment, systems and software for the local prepress sector, the Fujifilm Graphic Systems divisions will provide a service and support network backed by expert staff specialising in all aspects of prepress production.
"Customer satisfaction will be maximised at Fujifilm Graphic Systems by further enhancing service quality using combined resources and proprietary technologies.
"Fujifilm Graphic Systems is also set for further expansion in Australia and New Zealand.
"Since Fujifilm is one of the largest suppliers of prepress equipment and consumables worldwide, this latest acquisition demonstrates the Fujifilm Group’s commitment to the graphic arts industry in addition to its provision of superior products, quality and service."
From early October 2006, Fujifilm Graphic Systems will be headquartered at the Fujifilm Australia head office in Brookvale, Sydney.
Other Fujifilm Graphic Systems offices are located in Victoria, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia as well as a sub-branch in the ACT and there are two offices in New Zealand.
