Finsbury picked up 21 awards including, 7 Gold, 8 Silver and 5 Bronze and was also awarded the Best Overall Production - South Australia Award in the Judges Category for the entry Interesting Times
.
General manager of Finsbury SA, Steve Osborne, says the company’s recent awards are testament to the skill of the company’s dedicated team of staff.

“The 21 awards we received this year for the quality of our printing, including the finest quality print job in South Australia on top of the 71 state and national quality awards over the last two years, validate the commitment of skill of the whole team at Finsbury,” he says.

So what does the company do to ensure a clean, green, future for the planet? Finsbury is an alcohol free printer, is Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) accredited and is the first Australian printer to gain simultaneous accreditation of ISO14001 (Environmental Management Systems) and ISO9001:2000 (Quality Management Systems).

Furthermore, Finsbury is the first commercial printer in Australia to volunteer for the Federal Government’s Greenhouse Challenge to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, as well as the first Australian printer to publish an audited Environmental Report on its own activities.

In regards to consumables, 99 per cent of all ink used at Finsbury is vegetable-based and 97 per cent of the printing plates used by the company are digital - eliminating the need for film and its associated chemicals. 95 per cent of all waste material is recycled by the company and Finsbury runs four CD2000 102 printing presses - voted the ‘International Ecology Press’ for economical printing.

Additionally, and to save the world’s beautiful forests, Finsbury strives to use recycled paper and paper from sustainable forests and has systems to reduce water and energy consumption throughout the company’s premises.

Presented by Printing Industries South Australia and Northern Territory the PICA presentations were staged at the Adelaide Convention Centre on Friday 22 September with a crowd of more than 400 in attendance.

Special guests at the award ceremony include the State Leader of the Opposition, Iain Evans, Printing Industries national president, Peter Lane OAM and CEO of Printing Industries, Philip Andersen.
