Kodak Matchprint gets SWOP certification
The Kodak Matchprint inkjet desktop 400 and 800 proofing solutions have received SWOP (Specifications for Web Offset Publications) certification just three months after their debut at Print 05. The Matchprint Inkjet Proofing Solution brings the next level of workflow connectivity and colour precision to drop-on-demand inkjet proofing.
Based on software developed by Kodak, and including a new Certified Process for Colour Confirmation, Matchprint offers customers outstanding colour accuracy, enhanced image smoothness, quick calibration tools, and direct connectivity to Kodak Prinergy and Brisque System workflows.
Kodak inkjet proofing product manager Gil Rosenfeld, says brand owners, agencies, publishers and commercial printers seek inkjet proofing solutions that provide ease of use, integrate with their existing creative and prepress applications, and deliver consistent and accurate colour matching.
“SWOP Certification of the Matchprint Inkjet Proofing Solution reflects our commitment to offering colour proofing systems that perform to the highest industry standards,” she says.
To achieve the SWOP Certification Mark, manufacturers submit a SWOP Application Data Sheet (ADS) and representative proofs for review. The ADS provides directions for producing proofs as closely as possible to the SWOP Certified Press Sheet.
A system earns ‘SWOP Certified’ designation through its ability to produce proofs that closely match the appearance of the SWOP Certified Press Sheet.
Available in 2-up, 4-up and 8-up formats, the Matchprint Inkjet Proofing Solution includes a full line of Matchprint Inkjet Proofing Media for high quality colour, content, imposition and two-sided proofing.
The Certified Process for Colour Confirmation, an option on all Matchprint Inkjet Proofers, enables customers to easily verify and certify that individual proofs meet SWOP or in-house colour standards.
The Matchprint Inkjet Proofing Solution achieved SWOP Certification driving the Epson Stylus Pro 4800, 7800 and 9800 printers using Matchprint Pro Publication Semi-Matte 245 Media.
