Kwik Kopy opens first Digital Centre
“We are extremely excited to own the first Digital Centre in the Kwik Kopy network; we see it as a positive step into the future of printing,” says Justin Alexander.
“The new print model has huge potential, not just for our existing business model but for potential franchisees as well. New franchisees can open a Digital Centre at a significantly less cost than a traditional Kwik Kopy centre and still have 30 years of credibility in the Kwik Kopy name behind them.
For Glenn and Justin Alexander, their new Kwik Kopy Digital Centre allows them to increase their presence in the northern suburbs region of Melbourne for a relatively small start up cost.
David Bell, general manager, Kwik Kopy Australia says the new Digital Kwik Kopy centres will sell all the Kwik Kopy product offerings but may not necessarily produce all items on site.
“The new centres will focus on sales and customer service and on providing rapid delivery digital colour and black white printing including wide format and plan printing rather than being factory style production outlets,” says Bell
“The Digital Centres will outsource offset work to either another Kwik Kopy Centre or to a commercial wholesale printer. All outsourced printing will be done under a Service Level Agreement that documents among other things, quality, service and delivery levels.”
Kwik Kopy Digital Centres carry the branding and the look and feel of traditional centres but with more space for customer consultation.
“Our existing Thomastown centre is a lot more production focused. Our new Digital Centre has a customer consultation area, a boardroom for client meetings, space for graphic designers to work and a small production area for digital printers and bindery equipment.
“The new centre has just opened, when the centre grows we have plans to employ a second staff member to help with the sales and design work on site,” adds Alexander.
Bell says Kwik Kopy Australia is focused on expanding centre numbers via the new Digital Centres.
“We have excellent opportunities for people wanting to own their own business, in a clean, 5-day a week atmosphere, in a business with good profit margins.”
Bell says that Kwik Kopy currently has opportunities in Western Australia, South Australia and Queensland as well as Melbourne and Sydney.
“Response to the new print model has been strong and we are hoping to have three new Digital Centres operating throughout Australia by the end of the financial year.”
