Stephen Elop, president, worldwide field operations, Adobe Systems Incorporated, will leave the company at the end of the fiscal year, Adobe has announced. Elop, former CEO of Macromedia, is responsible for the company’s global sales organisation including field marketing, customer care and professional services. In announcing the decision, Adobe CEO Bruce Chizen says, "Stephen has been a tireless advocate committed to the successful integration of Macromedia and Adobe. However, looking beyond a successful integration, the responsibilities of leading Adobe’s worldwide field operations are not aligned with his longer-term career goals. We’ll miss his leadership and we wish him well."

The company says Elop is committed to staying with Adobe on through December 5, 2006.
