Well known finishing identity, Paul Lyons, has been appointed as the new general manager, bindery at MAN Ferrostaal.
Lyons will take responsibility for a bindery department that includes a host of leading brand names including MBO, Kolbus, Hunkeler, Herzog + Heymann and Meccotechnica.
He says, "Traditionally, MAN Ferrostaal has had a very strong line-up of bindery products. I'm looking forward to working with some of the leading manufacturers worldwide in this sector. There's no doubting the quality of the equipment in the portfolio and that needs to be represented to the customer. It's a matter of getting the name out there and letting people know that these are excellent products and ones that are fully supported locally."
In his new role, Lyons will be seeking to ensure that all the brands in the MAN Ferrostaal range receive first class local service and an increased market presence.
He says, "This is an exciting time for the bindery sector in the lead-up to drupa next year and I expect a lot of new products and innovations to start flowing through over the coming months. My goal is to present these solutions to our customers and help deliver genuine value and productivity gains to the bindery sector."
Lyons comes to MAN Ferrostaal with extensive experience in the bindery sector, most recently with Müller Martini where he held the position of national sales and marketing manager. Prior to that, he worked with Heidelberg and Edwards Dunlop, also in equipment sales including the bindery and finishing sector.
Markus Haefeli, MAN Ferrostaal CEO, says Lyons was the ideal candidate to fulfill the role of representing the MAN Ferrostaal bindery business.
"Paul brings with him a wealth of knowledge in this sector and is highly regarded throughout the industry," says Haefeli.
"I'd like to welcome him to our company and I know he will be a valuable addition to our management team.
"At MAN Ferrostaal, we are looking to strengthen and grow our bindery business and, as such, Paul's appointment is a sign of our commitment to fully support our existing customers and suppliers.
"Paul's role will be to help build up this business as well as bring in new products as required - it's a challenging task but one which I know Paul is more than capable of managing with every success."
