Media Super looks to youth with new PICA award

The Printing Industries Craftsmanship Awards (PICA) Victoria will have a new Award which recognises exceptional young people employed in the industry - the Future Leaders Award.

The new award is sponsored by Media Super and will be presented at the annual PICA event which takes place on November 9, at Sofitel Melbourne, Melbourne.

Lisa Collins, national client relationship manager, Media Super says “This Award has been created to recognise and reward exceptional young people employed in any sector of the industry, from print to packaging, graphics and design. At Media Super we believe it’s time to directly recognise and support the enormous contribution our young people are making to the industry in these times of transformation and challenge.  We are delighted to be extending our existing support of the PICA Awards in Victoria.”

Trevor Hone, chairman, PICA Victoria says “We’re looking for young people involved across all areas of print, packaging and graphic communications, from designers, prepress specialists and production people, to printers, print finishers and others. They can be involved in any type of print, but they will be people who contribute far beyond what’s expected of them and demonstrate their maturity and self-awareness in their professional and personal development. In short, the winner of the inaugural Media Super Future Leaders Award will be an outstanding young person who not only has a promising future as a leader in our industry, but whose work is already contributing to the bright future ahead for the industry itself.”

PICA is now seeking nominations for the award from business owners, managers and colleagues who believe they are employing or working alongside one of the industry’s future leaders.

To nominate someone you know for the Media Super Future Leaders Award, go to www.picavic.com.au to fill out a nomination form online.
