Packaging Industry Training
The Australian Institute of Packaging (AIP) has appointed Packaging Appointments (a division of The Appointments Group) to administer its highly respected packaging industry training programs.. These include the Diploma of Packaging, the Certificate of Packaging and various in-company training modules.
For people working in the food, beverages, pharmaceutical, life sciences, dry grocery and packaging industries and who are involved in quality assurance, quality audit, product development, technical sales, operations and allied functions the Diploma or Certificate in Packaging is the ideal way to improve their technical and functional knowledge and to pave the way for improving their career prospects.
These courses are available over the Internet and are supplemented by a unique tutoring method whereby each student is supported by a “highly qualified and experienced personal tutor” – allowing the student to study at their own pace – thus making it possible for busy executives to more easily slot these courses into their lives.
The Diploma in Packaging Technology was launched in 1955 by the Institute of Packaging in the U.K. In 1972 it was presented in a Distance Learning mode which eventuated in it being provided to students in twenty seven countries around the world.
In 1980 the AIP took over the responsibility for tutoring the program in Australia, New Zealand and a number of S.E. Asian countries, an arrangement which has continued until the present day.
During this time the World Packaging Organisation recognised the course as the best of its kind in the world.
The course has been progressively revised over the years, culminating in the on-line presentation recently introduced. Concurrently it has been accredited by the Quality and Curriculum Authority in the U.K. and through the Packaging Industry Awarding Body Company (PIABC) the AIP has been audited and granted Centre and Award approval.
The course is directed primarily at people within industry and major emphasis is made on sound industry experience supported by appropriate academic qualifications. Examinations are conducted by a separate entity, the Packaging Industry Awarding Body Company (PIABC). The estimated time for completion of the course is approximated at 120 hours. Success in the Diploma provides an entry level qualification for the MSc in Packaging Technology at the University of Loughborough and Brunel University in West London, which is also available in a distance learning format.
